Make A Difference Day

Help With Fall Yard Work ~ On November 2nd, volunteers from church will come to your residence and do fall yard work for you and one neighbor.  We will do the following: rake leaves, trim shrubs, clean up flower beds, store lawn equipment and lawn furniture, sweep decks/porches and pick up clutter.  A sign-up sheet is in the foyer, as well as a volunteer sign-up sheet.  You can also call the church office.  Think about what you would like done and ask one of your neighbors if they would like us to help them, also. I will be in touch with everyone on the sign-up sheet and match your tasks with appropriate volunteers.  Please join us in making this a successful church outreach.  Bill Bess

Pastor/Staff Appreciation Meal

The Meal after Church will be held so the church family can share a meal with all those that regularly serve us in their roles of employees.  The meal will include baked beef cubed steak, cheesy potato casserole, green beans, bread/butter, beverages and black forest cake.  The cost will be $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children 10 and under.  Those we will be honoring are Pastor Thérèse, Pastor Joe, Joyce Miller, Judy Tong, Susan Houston, Julie Kubbs, Gary Flach, Jim Anderson, Neil Miller, Erika Meligan, and Mike Doezema.  Come join the celebration on October 20th, after the second service.

E-Tithing

Would you like to enroll in E-Tithing?  E-Tithing is an automatic withdrawal from your checking account and is remitted automatically to the church.   We can set it up so it will deduct from your checking account on the 1st and/or the 15th of each month.  Contact the church office for more information!

Operation Christmas Child

  • Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, jump ropes, yo-yos, small Etch-A -Sketch, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), slinky, etc.
  • Hygiene items: mild bar soap in plastic bag, comb, washcloth
  • Candy: lollipops, mints, hard candy in a plastic bag, and gum are all acceptable.
  • Other: sunglasses, flashlights with extra batteries, ball caps, socks, T-shirts, toy jewelry, hair clips, watches, picture books, etc.

Do not include: used items, toy guns, knives, or other war-related items, chocolate, perishable food items, liquids of any kind, medicines of any kind, or breakable items.

To help cover shipping and other costs, please enclose a check for $9 or more in an envelope. Checks should be made payable to Prospect Street United Methodist Church.  Please write “OCC” on the memo line. Place a rubber band around your box and lid, and your box is ready to go.
