Outreach Ministries

Help Needed!!!  Again this year, Prospect Street UMC is in charge of the “Live Nativity” during the “Christmas By Candlelight” light display at the Marion County Fairgrounds.  Prospect Street manages the Live Nativity display on Saturday and Sunday nights in December. (December 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd)  Dressers needed every night between 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.  Our church will actually be portraying the nativity characters on Saturday, December 7th, during these times.  There is something that every servant can do, please prayerfully consider helping with this community ministry.  Call the church for details!

Laundry Love Ministry ~ Monday, December 23rd, at 4:15 p.m.  at the Southland Cleaning Village, 355 S. Main Street in Marion.  We can always use more volunteers!

Community Breakfast will be on Saturday, December 28th, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.  This community outreach is sponsored by the Men’s Prayer Breakfast group and the UMW’s SKI group.  This breakfast is free and open to all (donations will be accepted). This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and reach out into our community and build relationships with our neighbors and be fulfilled in sharing the love and grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Come one, come all to help, support or just have breakfast and fellowship. If you have questions, talk to anyone from the Men’s Prayer group or SKI group or specifically Pastor Thérèse, Richard Wallace, Bill Bess or Sue Bess.

Collecting magazines for our troops. We will be collecting one month old men’s magazines of all kinds that are appropriate to send to our troops.  A basket is in the library to put your magazines in. We will be sending them in small amounts to troops in different locations abroad.  Please contact Lynne Baer with any questions.  If you would like to purchase a magazine subscription or you have a subscription you no longer want to receive, you can have the subscription sent directly to: Magazines for Troops, PO Box 909, Lakeside, MT 59922

Would any group or individual like to help cover the cost of shipping the magazines for the troops?  It is a flat rate box, so the cost is $14.95 to ship.  Boxes and labels are in the library.  All that is needed is to tape the label to the boxes once they are packed.

If you are making or needing a Prayer Shawl for someone, they are now in a tub in the Upper Room.

“Senior Transportation Availability” ~ The Marion County Senior Transportation Service is free and available to anyone who lives in Marion County.  This service will pick you up and return you to your residence anywhere in Marion County Monday through Friday.  Participants must be at least 60 years old and reside in Marion County.  The vans are wheel chair equipped and drivers are trained in CPR, First Aid, and have to go through a physical and thorough background check.  If you are interested, call 740-387-5444.
