Outreach Ministries

Neighborhood Supper will be held Friday, October 19th, at 5:15 p.m.   You are also encouraged to come in early to fellowship with the participants.  This month’s meal will be Potato Soup with crackers,  hot dog sandwiches, pineapple chunks, cookies, and beverages.  The following items are needed:  hot dogs & buns, canned potatoes, boxed Scalloped or Au Gratin potatoes, ketchup, mustard, relish, saltine crackers, pineapple chunks, cookies, punch or punch mix, styrofoam  10 oz. cups, small plates, large bowls, and napkins.  Please bring your donations to the church kitchen by October 17th.  Thank you!

The personal care items we’ll offer diners at the Neighborhood Supper this month are bars of soaps.  Please leave donations in the basket in the back of the sanctuary.

Salvation Army Food Pantry collection will be Sunday, October 22nd.   Suggested donations: breakfast cereal.  Put your donations in the shopping cart in the back of the sanctuary.

Community Breakfast will be on Saturday, October 27th, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.  This community outreach is sponsored by the Men’s Prayer Breakfast group and the UMW’s SKI group.  This breakfast is free and open to all (donations will be accepted). This will be a wonderful opportunity to get involved and support this effort to reach out into our community and build relationships with our neighbors and be fulfilled in sharing the love and grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Come one, come all to help, support or just have breakfast and fellowship. If you have questions, talk to anyone from the Men’s Prayer group or SKI group or specifically Pastor Thérèse, Richard Wallace, Bill Bess or Sue Bess.  Hope to see you there.

Laundry Love Ministry ~ Monday, October 29th, at 4:15 p.m.  at the Southland Cleaning Village, 355 S. Main Street in Marion.  We can always use more volunteers!

Wednesday, October 31st, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Decorate your trunk!  Give out treats to our kids & neighborhood kids! Come for fun!  We could use extra individually wrapped candy.  They can be placed in the Halloween Box in the Second Floor Hallway.

Collecting magazines for our troops. We will be collecting one month old men’s magazines of all kinds that are appropriate to send to our troops.  There will be baskets in the library to put your magazines in. We will be collecting them and sending them in small amounts to various troops in different locations abroad. Please contact Lynne Baer with any questions.  If you would like to purchase a magazine subscription or you have a subscription you no longer want to receive, you can have the subscription sent directly to:  Magazines for Troops, PO Box 909, Lakeside, MT 59922

RECYCLING for Love Inc ~ We will be collecting plastic bags for recycling and giving them to Love Inc. They will distribute them to partnering groups in need of them – such as food pantries, Leapin’ Outreach and so on.  There will be a bin in the foyer in which you can place your plastic bags and when it’s full we will deliver them to Love Inc.
